evening race

16 Jul

oh man.  i actually work WORKED yesterday.  i went out in one of our plants and helped count inventory.  i was crawling over media, breathing in some lovely fiberglass, getting poked by some expanded metal.

it was hot in there too!

i had some nice butt sweat working.

luckily, i got to come home early.  and since the boyfriend took the day off, we got to watch some tv together before heading out for his 5k.

the boyfriend hasn’t ran a race since a 10 miler back in april, and i, well i didn’t think i would be up to running in the heat…and i didn’t register, so i spent my time being a supportive spectator.

bubba keg in one hand and camera in the other.  i swear by the bubba keg brand.  we’ve taken ours on the boat on the hottest of days, and after hours of baking in the sun our beverages are still just as cool as they were when we poured them.  i’ve noticed wal-mart is carrying them now, but there are many more styles available online.

after a 30 minute drive we were out in the middle of nowhere.

there couldn’t have been more than 100 people running this race.  there was spray paint on the road that signaled the starting line.  the race was set to start at 7:30, but really it was someone yelling “are ya’ll ready?”  and the runners took off around 7:38.

the course took the runners through the country, and the only other place for me to see the boyfriend was at the finish line.  so what do you do for 25 minutes in the middle of nowhere?

i take pictures.

a short walk past a church and i was at the finish line to catch the boyfriend finish strong.

congratulations babe!

right now we’re getting cleaned up and trying to decide what to do for lunch.  the boyfriend has guys’ poker night tonight…so i might be shopping and then curling up on the couch to watch a teen mom marathon.  exciting saturday evening, no?

what are your plans?
